Experts are of the view that as the daily COVID–19 numbers rise, India should prioritize to protect people who are at high risk and vulnerable.

Children are at the least risk of developing the severity of the diseases compared to adults. In the event of SARS–CoV–2 infection, the risk of developing severity in healthy youngsters is extremely low. But, as the kids are exposed to different changes in physiology and their exposure to the virus offers distinct challenges. School-aged children are more likely to be exposed to various viruses, due to their closeness to a group of children, especially if one of them is sick. Doctors confirm that non–vaccinated folks are the ones who get the most infection.

Infected youngsters are currently experiencing flu symptoms such as fever, sore throat, and runny stool. Reinfection is being observed mostly among immunocompromised patients, patients with several co-morbidities, and patients at risk for COVID, such as health care employees.

According to experts, there is currently no proof that new youngsters are becoming affected as a result of this outbreak. In comparison to earlier waves, the proportion of children affected has stayed rather constant. However, because schools have reopened, more children may appear to be infected; as a result, it was important to follow strict Covid precautionary measures and get eligible individuals vaccinated and help to control the spread.
